HORDES CAMPAIGN
By Ian Edwards

The long-running Hordes campaign at Abingdon Wargames Club has at last come to an end.

The campaign ran for three years (56 turns!) and at its height involved twenty players each controlling a different nation. Battles were fought using Wargames Research Group’s “Hordes of the Things” fast-play fantasy battle rules.

In the end the campaign began to bog down, and I was moving away from the area, so in true fantasy genre style the remaining ‘Great powers’ settled the final victory with a last great battle between the forces of Good (well actually the forces of Good and friends of no particular theological leanings) and the forces of Evil.

And so, that is it. Thank you to everyone who took part over the last three years. Next time that I suggest doing a campaign with twenty players, suggest to me that perhaps it would be better if it were a bit smaller.
