Renegade Miniatures
A new miniatures company with an initial range of English Civil War
figures, to be followed by an American Civil War range soon.
A sample pack of six 28mm figures contained 3 from each range. All the
figures are very cleanly cast with minimal flash. They are very similar in
style and size to recent Foundry releases.
All 3 ECW figures are very nice with well executed, believeable poses. A
range of clothing and equipment is depicted giving them an individual feel.
It is however possible that some of the conventional packs will contain a
number of variations on a figure. The only thing missing is a pike for the
pikeman which can easily be added.
These are very nice figures which look better than the new releases from
the Perry twins - praise indeed!
The 3 ACW miniatures are of a similar standard although two of the poses
seem a little odd, and don't really work. The third figure is however up to
the standard of the ECW offerings. They are all however, superior to a
number of other manufacturers output.
Packs from the ranges will contain 8 figures for £6-50, which seems very
reasonable compared to some others. There are currently 14 ECW foot
packs available with cavalry and others coming soon. The ACW range will
also be out in the near future, presumably at the same cost.
